Dead Cells "Pimp My Run" Update is Live on Consoles
In case you don't want to read through the incredibly dense patch notes for Dead Cells' new update, here are the basics. The update brings a stable 60FPS mode to the Switch, adjusts item drops, skills, and even mutations.
The update, titled "Pimp My Run," has been available on PC for a while now, but has finally made it to console with some specific additions.
The 60FPS stability patches for the Switch are arguably the most impactful, since Switch speed was super glitchy prior to the update. However, there are other contenders like the removal of enemy auto-scaling, reworked Cooldown Reduction, and increased Legendary Weapon drops as those are no longer tied to boss fights.
Time challenge doors have also been moved to put the emphasis back on speed rather than tracking the moving challenges. There's also a new type of time challenge which rewards players for defeating a fixed number of enemies without being hit.
Lastly, the update allows players who have already beaten the game access to a new Custom Mode editor tool so they can set the rules of a run with more tools at their disposal. Custom Mode editor gives players the ability to set starting weapons, chest curse levels, run timers, and item drops.
The Pimp My Run update is available now on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Switch.
