Drinkbox Studios has launched its award-winning hack 'n slash adventure, Severed, on the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch in North American and European territories today. Severed puts players in the role of Sasha, a one-armed warrior who has embarked on a dangerous quest to find her missing family members. During their adventure, players will hack, slash, and swipe their way through nightmarish monsters and uniquely challenging puzzles.

And encounter some disturbing sights like the one below.

In Severed, players use swipe-based touch controls to solve puzzles, find secrets and battle a host of disturbing and sometimes garish monsters like giant floating skull wizards and beasts made of crows. To tell you the truth, I was sold at the words "giant floating skull wizards" but I don't know about you. I'm the kind of person who starts counting down the days to Halloween in July, so, I may be a bit of an easy mark here.

During their journey, players unlock new abilities, ascend an RPG-style upgrade tree, and uncover the mysteries of the dark fantasy universe Sasha finds herself in.

Severed is out now on the Nintendo Switch. You can watch the game's launch trailer below.
