EA Games Suspends Purchases In 'Star Wars: Battlefront II'

After digging themselves into a publicity hole and seemingly pissing off every Star Wars gamer that ever existed, EA Games has officially suspended their microtransactions in Star Wars: Battlefront II this evening. The news came down about 30 minutes ago on the game's official Twitter feed.

It's no secret that beyond EA's corporate offices, no one was really happy with the gameplay structure of the shop, which required a lengthy amount of time to get any of the characters or items you wanted in the game. The downside to all of this is that there's no word of how the in-game system will now work as far as getting new characters, which means anyone who was biting the bullet and playing long hours just to get their hands on Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader have got to be annoyed as hell. Where this exactly puts the game will be determined in the days and weeks to come, but one thing is for certain; EA has a lot of damage control ahead of them and a new system to plan out to make everything fairer.
