Nintendo Files A New Trademark On Animal Crossing
According to JapaneseNintendo.com, Nintendo have officially filed a new trademark in Japan for Animal Crossing, which according to their findings shows that the new trademark will include "software for a home video game machine, portable electronic game machine, and smartphone devices, as well as stuffed animals, game machine controllers, board games, playing cards, protective carrying cases, trading card games, and much more!"
It isn't anything new to see a company renew or file for new trademarks on an IP they already own, but because it's Nintendo and the fact that the last Animal Crossing product was simply a mobile app game, it would stand to reason that the company are moving forward with a new set of trademarks to work on a new Nintendo Switch title. Which seems like it's overdue since the company have already released or are currently working on something for almost every other property that is associated with their brand. Of course, there's really no way to be certain that this is what's happening until the trademark is approved and we get some kind of announcement from Nintendo, but it's a pretty educated guess that there's a new game in the works at some level for the series.
