Nintendo Showing You Everything That Went Into Making The Latest 'Zelda'

If you'd like to take a brief break from playing Breath Of The Wild today, Nintendo has a cool little treat for you. The company just published three videos on their YouTube channel, pulling back the curtain and giving you a behind-the-scenes look into the making of the game. Unlike previous videos Nintendo has done where things are more cute than informative, these videos feel more documentary style and talk with an array of people involved with the game at Nintendo's HQ. The company sent a brief press email about them this morning.

How does the world of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild relate to Kyoto? Where did the game's musical inspiration come from? How were the sound effects for Link's footsteps created? Which time period in Japanese history inspired the Sheikah Slate? All of these intriguing questions will be answered in this developer video series.

You can check out the first video above, which talks about the initial planning of the game. The next two cover "Open Air Concept" and the "Story & Characters" for the game. It's pretty cool to see Nintendo actually take a more serious approach to their video series, especially after some of the weirder ones we've seen over the years. Like watching Masahiro Sakurai try to look "excited" in a leopard-print shirt when talking about the release of Smash Bros. a few years ago.
