A new form of Lycanroc debuts tomorrow as part of the newly announced Pokémon GO event, Lustrous Odyssey.

Here's what's happening for the Lustrous Odyssey event in Pokémon GO:

Date and time: Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
New form of Lycanroc: Dusk Form Lycanroc will debut in Pokémon GO as the main feature of this event. Beginning with this event, Rockruff that are hatched or encountered may be able to evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc instead of Midday Form Lycanroc or Midnight Form Lycanroc. Regarding the Shiny form of this species, Niantic specifies:
- "For the first time in Pokémon GO, Trainers will be able to evolve Shiny Rockruff into Shiny Dusk Form Lycanroc!"
Wild Spawns: Gastly (can be Shiny), Eevee (can be Shiny), Spinarak (can be Shiny), Sunkern (can be Shiny), Teddiursa (can be Shiny), Lunatone (can be Shiny), Solrock (can be Shiny), Yungoos (can be Shiny), Fomantis (can be Shiny), Morelull (can be Shiny). Espeon and Umbreon will be rare encounters, and they will be able to be encountered in the wild in their Shiny forms.
Special Research: The second part of the Season-long Timeless Travels Special Research will unlock. It will feature an encounter with Rockruff, XP, Stardust, and other items.
Event bonuses:
- Increased frequency of Buddy Pokémon bringing you Souvenirs.
- Increased frequency of Buddy Pokémon bringing you presents.
- Your buddy will spend more time on the map after being fed Berries or Poffins.
- Rockruff hatched from Eggs received as Adventure Sync rewards during Pokémon GO: Timeless Travels may have a chance to evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc. (This being listed as an "Event bonus" calls into question if this feature will be only available during this and other special events.)
Raids:
- Tier One: Hisuian Growlithe, Rhyhorn, Hisuian Sneasel, Rockruff. All can be Shiny.
- Tier Three: Lapras, Aerodactyl, Hisuian Braviary, Wyrdeer. All can be Shiny.
2KM Eggs and 7KM Gift Eggs: Rockruff will be featured along with the other Pokémon that usually hatch from these Eggs.
Field Research: Hisuian Growlithe, Rhyhorn, Hisuian Sneasel, Rockruff. All can be Shiny.
