"Pokémon Sword" and "Shield" Nintendo Switch E3 News
Nintendo has already shared quite a bit of the news around Pokémon Sword and it's sister game, Pokémon Shield. A few more cool little tidbits were announced during Nintendo's E3 presentation.
There is a pretty exciting accessory coming for the game, the Poké Ball Plus- a controller that debuted with Let's Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! The Poké Ball Plus won't be able to be used as a controller, but players will be able to store their collection in the device, and bring them around with them when they're not playing Sword and Shield.
Nintendo has teased that "something good might happen" if you take your Pokémon out and about with you in your Poké Ball Plus.
Here's the trailer for the new game, which was debuted at E3:
You will start the game with one of three different companions: Grookey, a grass type chimp; Scorbunny, a Fire type rabbit that is overflowing with energy; and Sobble, a water-type lizard that hides in water, but has a pretty strong water attack, too.
The game also introduces the Dynamax Phenomenon:
Dynamax is a phenomenon unique to specific locations in the Galar region, where Pokémon are able to take on gigantic appearances. Pokémon from the Galar region are capable of Dynamaxing, and the Dynamax Pokémon become tremendously strong.
The Dynamax phenomenon, which allows creatures to become tremendously powerful, is an integral part of Pokémon battles in the Galar region. Dynamax Pokémon don't just become bigger—they get a boost in power as well. But they will return to normal after three turns, so make sure think carefully about when to trigger the Dynamax phenomenon!
All the moves of a Dynamax Pokémon will turn into special Max Moves. Max Moves pack a punch, but that's not all! Some of them can even trigger powerful additional effects!
