Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Have 200 Different Animals Including 19 Different Horses

Rockstar has talked a little bit about the wildlife in Red Dead Redemption 2, saying the game will feature several hundred different types of animal.

Rockstar doesn't really do things by half. The sheer amount of money and staying power each of its games has really allows the developer to go extremely deep into the details of its worlds. It's part of why its games always feel like an event with unmatched polish. There aren't a lot of game makers out there that make games quite in the extensive (expensive) way that Rockstar does.

Case in point, it's been revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will have  around 200 types of animals in the game. The wildlife was a big part of the first game and really helped sell the world and it looks like Rockstar isn't skimping out in that regard here. The number was revealed in a recent tweet by the developer,

Of those 200, are 19 different breeds of horses which will all have their own characteristics the player will be able to contend with. In a separate tweet, the developer confirmed the number, saying:

While this might not be the most important revelation about the game, it does speak to just how detailed it is looking to be. It's clear this is a dense title and I for one can't wait to get stuck in on October 26, 2018 when it releases.
