Redbox Is Now Going To Have Nintendo Switch Games In The U.S.
Make whatever jokes you'd like about Redbox being one of the last places to get physical copies of titles in a dying industry, but there's still a good chunk of America who uses their system for quick rentals. No joke here, there's a Redbox near my place at a 7-11, and it has a line some nights I walk by. So it doesn't shock us to learn that Nintendo has made a new deal with the company to start stocking Nintendo Switch titles in their kiosks. If you live in Portland, San Antonio, or Seattle, you can already take advantage of this system.
The details of how you'll be able to take advantage of this system are kind of sketchy at the moment since it hasn't gone nation-wide yet, but so far it looks like it will be $3 a night per game you take out. Right now the titles available are Just Dance 2018, The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, NBA 2K18, Pokkén Tournament Deluxe, and Splatoon 2. Theoretically, it makes for a smart decision on Nintendo's part as they're giving people a chance to try out their games and allow people to see if they want to purchase them later. However, there's a lot of Switch titles not in the system that we're sure people want to try, so we'll see just how successful it is in the months to come.
