It's been announced that Nintendo that characters who don't have an Amiibo and are returning for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be getting one.

Super Smash Bros. has done a lot for Amiibo. Every character in Super Smash Bros. Wii U got a little plastic figurine for themselves, leading to some truly glorious and obscure characters getting out there. From your regulars like Mario, Bowser, and Link, to deeper cuts like Falco, Greninja and R.O.B, you had a deep roster to choose from in showing off your favorite Nintendo characters in the real world. However, with everyone who has ever been in one of the games returning for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, is it possible we could see those missing gaps filled?

Well, yes, it would seem. Nintendo has said that all characters returning to the fight that weren't in the previous game will get an Amiibo. As posted on their Japanese site (via Twinfinite), it is said that these returning characters will all have figures made for them. They name dropped Ice Climbers and Pichu, but confirmed they mean everyone is coming.

Now, that means we can expect a Solid Snake amiibo, which is certainly a fun idea. Others like Wolf and Pokémon Trainer will see figures alongside new fighter Ridley too. There aren't actually too many characters that have appeared in a Super Smash Bros. game who don't have an Amiibo yet, so it isn't a huge undertaking. That said, it's nice for completionists to get their collections completely filled. For the rest of us, it's nice to just be able to pick and choose from such a vast number of characters. Here's hoping these come out with or near the game's launch.
