Someone Stole A Ton Of Kickstarter Codes For Friday The 13th: The Game
If you're one of the many people trying desperately to purchase one of the Friday The 13th: The Game codes for the special Savini Skin (Flaming Jason), you might wanna take a second thought about it as that code is most likely stolen. IGN broke the news this weekend that the special skin given as an exclusive to Kickstarter backers, a skin that the company said they would never sell on the open market, has been circulating on eBay after several codes were stolen from a distribution partner. According to the article, an eBay user under the profile "trenjac_5" is possibly allegedly "a member of either the Gun Media team, the game's distributor Limited Run games, or one of their partners, was taking codes for this exclusive content and selling them online."
Gun Media hasn't revealed any finer details as to who the partner is, but the account was tracked back to Raleigh, North Carolina, where a few different members of Gun Media's team live. No word yet as to whether or not Gun Media or IllFonic will take steps to revoke the codes that have been sold, but it's almost a done deal that whoever is responsible is out of a job if they are employed by the company and will probably be charged with theft if they have their way. In the meantime, we advise you to not seek out the codes.
