Square Enix is Taking Dragon Quest XI Pre-Orders on Specific Retailers
Today, Square Enix announced that North American audiences can now start pre-ordering Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age for the PS4 for the standard $60, but there are only a couple places you can do it from. Amazon, EB Games, and GameStop are the three primary retailers the company is working with, and as part of the promotion, each location has a specific piece of added content you can get from the game. Here's the info they sent out this morning detailing what each one has.
Pre-order incentives at GameStop in the United States, or EB Games in Canada, include eight exclusive collectible two-inch buttons featuring the main cast and the mysterious spirits of lost time, as well as an exclusive in-game DLC pack which contains:
- The "Elevating Vest" – A snazzy waistcoat that awards the wearer with extra experience every time they win a battle; and
- Three "Seeds of Skill" – A nifty nut that confers an extra skill point upon anyone who eats it (consumed upon use).
Players that pre-order the game from Amazon will receive an exclusive in-game DLC pack including:
- "Arriviste's Vest" – A glitzy gold waistcoat that awards the wearer with extra money every time a battle is won; and
- Three "Seeds of Skill" – A nifty nut that confers an extra skill point upon anyone who eats it (consumed upon use).
So basically if you do this, what it comes down to is which you value more as a player: money or experience. Dragon Quest XI is due to be released on September 4th.
