Super Mario Run Has Already Hit 40 Million Downloads
Super Mario Run's time since release has been a bit of a rollercoaster. The game flew out the gates, becoming the fastest iOS app to 25 million downloads, but at the same time, stock fell in Nintendo due to how the game makes money, going for a one time purchase over free-to-play. It's seemingly both stellar and disappointing all in one go.
However, despite what analysts and investors think, its hard to deny that this game is getting around. It was announced yesterday by Nintendo that the app had reached 40 Million downloads in 4 days. That makes this the most downloaded game in four days, ever.
Of course, keep in mind, this won't translate to sales across the board. Lots of these will be players who played the first three levels for free and didn't eventually buy in. The high price of the full game was most certainly a complaint for many, so right now, we don't quite know the precentage of downloads to purchases. That will be an important stat.
