Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization Is Getting A Holy Trinity of DLC Next Month

If you thought Kirito was done already… Bandai Namco disagree. They've announced today that the first chapter of the Abyss of the Shrine Maiden storyline will be out next month. Abyss of the Shrine Maiden will come to players as a series of 3 DLC expansions, which is a pretty novel way to expand your game. Much more like an MMO than a standard console game, but given it's Sword Art Online, that makes a lot of sense.

The first DLC will put you in the shoes of Kirito and his friends exploring a new stage in Aincrad Castle – where flaming earth, magma and heat waves dominate the atmosphere. While trying to clear this incredible new stage players will also be faced with the challenge of trying to defeat Bane – the crimson demon. Oh, and there's some weird masked guy following you, suspicious right?

Along with the main scenario update comes the following:

Heroine Quest – where you will have the chance to add Asuna, Lisbeth, Silica and Premiere as heroines in the first chapter.
Enigma Order Quest – where you can acquire the precious Fuse Paragon, Mystic and Ultana GP.
Items and skills- for becoming powerful as never before.
Customization – change the appearance of the main characters.

All of the above will be part of the chapter 1 DLC that will be available on May 16th.

And if that wasn't enough information, Bandai teased that the second and third chapter will have the main scenario reversed so that "Ice will reign" and you'll unlock two new characters Alice and Eugeo, and a "co-sleeping event that will involve them both."
