Things Get Surreal With Where The Bees Make Honey at PAX East 2019

It isn't often that we experience déjà vu at a convention, but that's exactly what I went through with Where The Bees Make Honey at PAX East. This is a game that we have never played before or seen at a convention prior and to the best of our knowledge we hadn't even touched as a demo under a different name. And yet, when we picked it up, everything about it seemed like we had played this before and we were able to breeze through the entire demo. It was the weirdest feeling I had ever experienced at a convention or invite as I was basically playing a game that I know for a fact I never played before, and everything about it was second nature to me. So that was the first little interesting perk to the game.

Where The Bees Make Honey switches you between genres of game but it's ultimately one giant puzzle game where you have to figure out what's going on around you to progress to the next area. Some of it is you as an adult reflecting back on your childhood, other aspects are of you as an adult now dealing with the weird sorrow of being an adult and wanting an escape. The game is actually already out for PC, PS4, and Xbox One right now if you'd like to try it, as we had a lot of fun checking it out and getting a taste of something different from the Indie Megabooth.
