A 'Red Dead Redemption' Mod Map For 'GTAV' Killed By An Email
Mod maps in Grand Theft Auto V are commonplace at this point and have added a level of fun that can't be duplicated by game designers. Player imagination has much more freedom with the utilities available to them than some who actually built the game, and it shows. Recently, there was a small buzz about a mod map coming that would put players on a Red Dead Redemption map, titled "Red Dead Redemption V," created by the .White Team, which was actually looking quite splendid by all their screenshots.
Welp, that mod didn't last very long as team member Mr. Leisurewear announced the project was canceled, due to the fact that the group was contacted by someone asking them to cease work on it. Whether it was Rock Star Games or Take-Two who made contact and asked them to stop wasn't made clear, but we're suspecting the latter since Rock Star has allowed all sorts of random copyrighted material be modded for their games and rarely spoken up. Mr. Leisurewear added later that he'll probably try again after all the hype around it has gone down, but with RDD2 on the way, it's pretty clear Take-Two are protecting themselves in every way possible before the actual game is released. It's a shame, too. That might have been one of the best ways to get people hyped about RDD again shy of playing the game over.
