Fortnite Developer Epic Games Receives F from Better Business Bureau

While Fortnite continues to be one of the most popular games, its developer Epic Games is anything but popular with the Better Business Bureau.

According to the BBB, the company received 279 complaints from around the United States over the past three years. Most of the complaints range from "unjust platform bans," "false accusations" of cheating, refusal to refund unauthorized charges, issues surrounding the in-game currency V-bucks, and functional issues.

One complaint said, "Epic Games failed to protect customer security, resulting in several unsanctioned charges over mine and my partner's account."

Another read, "There is no phone number or proper email response time to return my unauthorized charge of $160. Nobody will answer, and I feel cheated."

EG, which also created Infinity Blade, Unreal, Gears of War, and Shadow Complex, boasts more than 6 million followers on Twitter.

EG addressed 32 of the complaints leaving 247 unanswered. The majority of the responses deferred gamers to the game's support staff than taking their issues up with the BBB.

After an inquiry with Variety, an EG spokesperson responded with the following.

"Epic Games is not affiliated with the Better Business Bureau and has redirected all player submitted complaints from the BBB to our Player Support staff. We encourage players with concerns about their accounts to reach out to us."

BBB attempted to contact EG several times, but didn't get a response.

What's your experience with Fortnite? Have you dealt with Epic Games' customer service? Sound off.
