More Star Wars: Battlefront Games Coming In The Future
Star Wars: Battlefront is out today and I'm sure plenty of you will be hopping in. I'm also sure a bunch of you have even played the game with EA Access over the weekend also. It's a great experience that I love being a part of and can't wait to go deeper.
Perhaps unsurprisingly though, this isn't going to be the only game in the rebooted franchise. Speaking at the UBS Global Technology Conference (via GameSpot) EA CFO Blake Jorgensen talked openly about upcoming games in the series, as well as hinting at other Star Wars titles to come.
We struck a licensing deal with Disney a few years back that's almost ten years in length. The game that comes out tomorrow, Star Wars Battlefront, is a traditional first-person style shooter game. Our goal is to make future Battlefront games as well as other style games around the Star Wars franchise, both on mobile as well as console and PC. It's a huge opportunity for us.
That's that then. The next question becomes when will we see it again? Is it going to be a trade off between Battlefront and Battlefield every year? Could we perhaps see it as early as next year? Or maybe DICE will take their time like they did with this one and take three years. For now, I'd guess in two years, but we will see…
