Need For Speed Delayed On PC Until 2016
Need for Speed is set to make a comeback this fall, after taking a break off last year. It's resurrecting the more Underground tone too, which is sure to tickle a few people's nostalgia receptors. I'm pretty excited about getting hands on the arcadey racer again, after the breather.
If you were excited for the PC version though, you'll be waiting a little longer. In a post on their official website, Ghost Games revealed that the PC version has been delayed into 2016. Console versions will remain unaffected.
When giving a reason, the developer said that they really wanted to reach uncapped framerates, as well as adding:
This decision on PC gives us the necessary development time to increase the visuals that we can deliver on PC. We will also include content updates that will have been released on console up to that time, making them available to all PC players from day one.
This is good news. Nailing the PC port is important, even if it takes a little longer. It seems the industry really is learning from the Arkham Knight debacle. That is great.
