The Oculus Rift Is $599 And Will Launch In March
Well, the day is finally here, and the first premium VR headset has stuck its flag in the sand. And it's a pretty controversial flag.
Oculus have just announced that the Oculus Rift will launch in March and will set you back $599/£499. You can pre-order the headset here if you so wish.
That…that is steep. I think it shows that Oculus really aren't looking for mass adoption out of the gate, instead getting early adopters in and expecting things to grow in the long term. That's encouraging in a way. Still, for those early adopters, and I will likely be one…that's a lot.
