Amazon Prime Announces Premiere Date For The Grand Tour
Amazon Prime has been moving along with original series like Bosch, Transparent, The Man in the High Castle and Mozart in the Jungle. But what may be their biggest series yet has gotten a premiere date. The Grand Tour, a new car / driving entertainment show starring the former hosts of Top Gear (the original British version): Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. Clarkson was famously let go from Top Gear in May of 2015 after the presenter punched producer Oisin Tymon. Top Gear has since went another direction, freeing up both Hammond and May allowing Amazon to get the band back together.
With the success of the original Top Gear series and the headlines the incident with Clarkson made, this is likely the highest profile series the streaming service has offered up yet. And they use the tag line: What could possibly go wrong? If the series is a hit, things could go very right for Amazon Prime.
Now if only they could get The Stig.
The Grand Tour premieres November 18th.
