Anna Kendrick Leading Voice Cast of Dreamworks' Trolls – Terry Pratchett UPDATE

I don't know about you but I had a whole bunch of trolls when I was little. Now, just like all our childhood memories and possessions, Trolls are headed for the big screen. The Wrap reports Anna Kendrick has joined the Dreamworks production and will lead the voice cast for the animated film.

Shrek Forever After helmer Mike Mitchell is directing the film, described as a fun filled aventure, in which Kendrick will voice Poppy, the "relentlessly upbeat princess" who is at the center of the story which will "reveal the story behind the beloved, colorful nature of the Trolls' trademark, gravity-defying hair."

Here's what Mitchell had to say about is leading lady:

Anna has proven herself to be a brilliant actress with an amazing singing voice. She'll inject Poppy with the exact mix of spirit, sass and song that will no doubt give a whole new life to the iconic Troll dolls.

So even if this ends up kinda crappy, sounds like we'll get Kendrick singing some more, which is always a win.

UPDATE: Film Divider have some more info on the characters and, most interestingly, an explanation that the film evolved from an adaptation of Terry Pratchett.
