Avengers: Infinity War Directors Talks Robert Downey Jr. Place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
No one is really sure what's going to happen to the founding members in Avengers: Infinity War. Since most of the actors seem keen to move on they are either going to retire or die. One of those people fans are is Robert Downry Jr. as Tony Stark. Anthony and Joe Russo both spoke to Hindustan Times about Downey Jr's place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"There is nobody who can take over Iron Man from Robert. I don't think the audience would accept that. He never mentioned to us about leaving 'Iron Man', but it will happen at some point of time. He can't play the character forever. I am sure there are lots other things he wants to do in his career. But he loves playing the character, I know that, and we love working together. We will see where it goes from here," said Joe Russo.
While Iron Man is one of the leaders of the Avengers Downey Jr. is absolutely one of the leaders on set as well.
"Robert is an incredible leader. He is a very warm and inclusive human being. He is great in keeping everyone's spirits high and making everyone feel invited in the process… In the healthy creative space," he adds.
Iron Man is probably going to retire or die by the end of Avengers 4 and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to look very different afterwards both behind and in front of the camera.
