Awesome Mix Vol. 1 Coming To A Cassette Deck Near You (Updated)
You can get one step closer to being Star-Lord… Marvel and Hollywood Records are putting out a limited edition Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 soundtrack cassette on November 17th.
(Update – We're now being told that the release date for the cassette is November 28th… or what is commonly known as "Black Friday", the day after Thanksgiving.)
Guardians of the Galaxy is the biggest film of the year and the soundtrack was equally successful spending two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and is the 10th largest selling album of 2014.
The cassette will only be available at certain locations (get a list of participating stores here). This is the first cassette Disney has released since 2003, will only be available until December 31, or until supplies last. And just how many they will be releasing is unclear.
To keep the authentic look, the cassette will come with a classic mix tape cover with hand written song titles.
