Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass Comes Complete With Batgirl
Earlier this week I talked about the rather expensive Season Pass that Rocksteady were offering alongside the release of Batman:Arkham Knight. At $40 for the standalone package, it seemed pretty steep.
Well, the contents of that Pass has now been outlined and it does look like there is worthwhile here.
On the WB community blog, it was announced that Batgirl would be making her series debut as part of the package. This will be "prequel content" and will take place in a totally new environment. On top of that there will be new missions featuring Batman going toe to toe with his rogue galleries, as well as story content for Batman's "key allies" that will take place both before and after the main game's narrative.
Here is a break down of all the content thus far:
Batgirl: A Matter of FamilyAn all new prequel story expansion in an entirely new location where you play as Batgirl for the very first time in the Arkham series – check out the first render of Batgirl.
The Season of InfamyPlay as Batman in all new story missions featuring legendary super-villains invading Gotham City, with new story arcs, missions and gameplay features.
Gotham City StoriesPlay as Batman's key allies in narrative missions extending their storylines, from both before and after the events in Batman: Arkham Knight.
Legendary Batmobiles with Themed TracksDrive the most iconic Batmobiles from Batman's 75-year history, on custom-built race tracks, each themed to that Batmobile's specific era. Every Batmobile will be drivable across every race track.
Crimefighter Challenge MapsEngage in a series of new challenge maps utilizing the unique play styles of Batman and his allies.
Character SkinsA variety of skins from across the eras for Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman.
As we fully ramp up development on the Season Pass, we will be sharing even more details on each monthly content drop. We hope you enjoy playing Batman: Arkham Knight as much as we've enjoyed making it.
The inclusion of Batgirl is pretty inspired. It's kind of sad that it looks like she will only turn up in DLC content though as it probably means she will have a minimal if any impact on Arkham Knight's main narrative. Still, it's cool to see her in regardless. I just don't like putting her behind a pay wall.
