Learn About Black Panther's Comic Book History in This New Behind-the-Scenes Video
Entertainment Weekly has posted a new behind-the-scenes video for Black Panther not only detailing the characters origins in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also the origins of the character in comics.
"You want the wow factor, but it's not just stuff blowing up. It's definitely a character piece," said star Chadwick Boseman.
Boseman, Kevin Feige, Stan Lee, and director Ryan Coogler all talk about what makes T'Challa a different type of superhero from everyone that we've seen so far. While most heroes are trying to protect a city, T'Challa has an entire country that he needs to keep safe. There are very different stakes for him, and that's what's going to make him such an interesting character for audiences.
Summary: T'Challa, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king.
Black Panther, directed Ryan Coogler, stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, and Martin Freeman. It will be released on February 16th, 2018.
