Last night's Supergirl threw everything and the kitchen sink into the episode. It had multiple story plots, lots of DC references and a whole lot of tension.

Lets focus on Supergirl first. Last week Mon-El was captured by Cadmus. Now he's used as bait to get Kara to come to them. She does and is confronted by the real Hank Henshaw who now calls himself Cyborg Superman. He defeats her and puts her in a cell, but Cadmus and more specificallly Lila Luthor wants her blood so they shoot Mon-El with a lead bullet… lead is poisonous to Daximites…. and will shoot him again unless she supernovas her heat vision leaving her powerless. She agrees and the get her blood. The big surprise comes when a completely normal looking Jeremiah Danvers shows up to rescue them. He stays with Cadmus after letting them out.

This leave so many questions. What has Jeremiah been up to for 15 years? How did Cadmus come up with Nth metal from Thanagar? What is the Medusa Project that Henshaw went to the Fortress of Solitude to learn about? And will Mon-El be permanently affected by the lead as he was in the comics after one exposure?

Meanwhile Guardian is having an issue with another vigilante / serial killer taking out people and letting them blame Guardian. This puts the police after him and Winn Schott ends up telling Alex Danvers that James Olsen is the man behind the mask to get her to get Maggie Sawyer and the cops to back off. Schott also figures out who the killer is and where he may strike next. Guardian is able to defeat the bad guy and turn him over to Maggie who then lets the Guardian go. But now 3 people know the truth.

What got very interesting is the J'onn J'onzz story and how White Martian blood in his system is starting to make him shake and hallucinate. J'onn has his blood checked and realizes what is going on and confronts M'gann M'orzz and the fight. J'onn refrains from killing her, but takes her into custody where she tells him that her blood is going to turn him into a White Martian.

Through all of this they're keeping the Alex / Maggie story. Alex is hurt and is avoiding Maggie, but she ends up going off on Maggie a little bit. Maggie takes it and comes back at the end of the episode to tell Alex that she really care for her. So they're going to try the friend route.

The episode did a lot to shake up the status quo of a show that had already shaken up the status quo. Guardian is becoming a serious character, something is growing between Kara and Mon-El but will he survive the lead, J'onn now has a major issue, we've seen that Jeremiah is alive, and Cyborg Superman and Cadmus are in the Fortress of Solitude. And next week we learn more about Medusa and kick off the Invasion crossover.
