Christian Bale Says Robert Pattinson is a "Good Choice" For Batman
We are continuing the never-ending conversation as to who is going to play Batman in the next big-screen adaptation. We heard back in May that Robert Pattinson was in talks to take on the role of Batman and the news was confirmed by the end of the month. Since then people have been asking former actors that have played the role what they think of Pattinson taking on the role. Christina Bale is currently at the Toronto International Film Festival promoting his new movie Ford v. Ferarri and was asked asked Pattinson taking on the role by Variety. His first response was "good! He's interesting" and Bale was pressed for some advice
"Oh, same as for Ben [Affleck]: Be able to pee by yourself," Bale said. "You don't feel much like a superhero when you can't take a piss by yourself."
People are always angry about Batman casting announcement and Pattinson's announcement was no different. While most people know him as "the guy from Twilight" Pattinson used all of the residuals he gained from that franchise and has spent the last several years starring in a bunch of really good indie movies no one has heard of. The next one of which is The Lighthouse which looks about as A-24-y as a movie from A24 and the director of The Witch could look.
Summary: The story of two lighthouse keepers on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s.
The Lighthouse, directed by Robert Eggers and written by Max Eggers and Robert Eggers, stars Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson. It will be released on October 18th.
