D23 Expo: Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, & 20th Century Studios Live Blog

The D23 Expo is upon us! Even though Disney has not been holding back when it comes to big announcements in 2022, between everything we got out of Star Wars Celebration in May and everything out of the big Hall H panel in July, one would think there was nothing else for Disney to announce at their own convention, but that is very much not the case. There are several big panels throughout the weekend. Today we are sitting down for the second of the big three; Walt Disney Studios – Lucasfilm & Marvel Studios Presentation. We are in the room to live blog the whole thing.

D23 EXPO 2022 – The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by VISA – brings together all the worlds of Disney under one roof for three packed days of presentations, pavilions, experiences, concerts, sneak peeks, shopping, and more. The event, which takes place September 9, 10, and 11 at the Anaheim Convention Center, provides fans with unprecedented access to Disney films, series, games, theme parks, collectibles, and celebrities. When it comes to Marvel, there are a ton of things that they could show us. Anything that was shown during Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con could be shown at D23 Expo pretty easily to a great crowd reaction. However, there is a good chance we're going to get some sort of new announcement. Perhaps it is some confirmed casting for something like the Fantastic Four or something like that [please, let it be that, if I see one more fancast I might burn Twitter to the ground]. We could see something from one of the holiday specials that are also set to come out. Lucasfilm is the wildcard. We know that Indiana Jones 5 is happening because there were costumes and concept art on the show floor, the same with the new Willow series. Star Wars is another game. Rogue Squadron is still on the schedule, and if there were ever a crowd that would forgive a movie getting removed from the schedule, it would be this one. Finally, 20th Century Studios is making an appearance as well. Avatar: The Way of Water will be shown in some capacity, but I would love to see them announce a Prey sequel at D23 for the lulz.
