E3 To (Sort Of) Open Its Doors To Members Of The Public For The First Time
E3 is a bit of a weird one when you think about it. It's the biggest event in the gaming calendar each year, but it's not open to the public. It was originally just an industry expo to show off wares between those employed in the field, but nowadays it comes with a lot more spectacle and pageantry. The fact that the public still can't go though makes the whole thing feel like a forward facing VIP Party. In reality, it is much less glamourous, but it's a lot of gamer's dreams to attend.
If you are one of those people, be on the look out. In an interview with Polygon, ESA's senior vice president of consumer and industry affairs, Rich Taylor said that the "4000 to 5000" tickets had been given out to game's companies to distribute amongst their fans. No one seems to be handing these out yet though, so be on the prowl.
Be aware, there tickets will get you inside and let you go stand in line to see presentations. Press conferences and the like are held outside of the expo though, so those aren't included. If you do get in though, come say hey!
