Exclusive Clip from Affairs of State: This is Insane!
Political thrillers are coming back into vogue between the success of House of Cards and watching Twitter every day, and it's into that arena that Lionsgate is releasing Affairs of State. Affairs sees the reunion of director Eric Bross and writer Tom Cudworth, who collaborated twice before more than 20 years ago for Ten Benny and Restaurant.
Affairs of State follows Michael Lawson (played by David Corenswet), who will do anything to take part in Senator Baines's (David James Elliott) White House campaign, including blackmailing Baines's shady advisor (Adrian Grenier, TV's Entourage) and sleeping with the candidate's wife (Mimi Rogers). But when he gets involved with the senator's alluring daughter (Grace Victoria Fox), Lawson learns his dangerous game could have a deadly payoff.
Thora Birch stars as Callie Roland, Lawson's associate, and in this exclusive clip, they argue about the ways that Lawson is using to land a spot on the campaign:
