Fallout 4 Is Very Close To Finished Says Developer

We are so used to video games announcing themselves years in advance, that Fallout 4 going from released to announced in just five months feels simultaneously like whiplash and a refreshing example.

For some reason, the reveal did worry some people though. Could the game really have had enough time in development if it's being released so close to the announcement? Now of course, there have been little leaks for years surrounding this game. I have no doubt this has been in production for 5 or so years now. When talking to GamesRadar, VP of Marketting at Bethesda Pete Hines echoed this by saying:

If we didn't feel like that was enough time to generate the excitement that we expected and the interest that we wanted, then we would have announced it earlier. So part of it is because we felt like it was a big enough title that we could get away with it.

In fact, production of the game is coming to a close very soon. He added:

We're pretty close to being done, which you have to be if you're going to ship in five months

Fallout 4 is going to be one of the biggest games this year without a doubt. It's funny that just two weeks ago, we had no idea that it would be gracing our Christmas calendars. I like it this way too.
