Besides moving their own stories forward this season, both the Flash and Arrow have been tasked with helping to set up the mid-season series DC's Legends of Tomorrow. The problem being that many of the characters in the new show have either been separated, missing or dead. And many more had yet to be introduced. So the two parent series had a lot to do and they have already begun.
Sara Lance needed to be brought back to life, something we saw when Laurel and Thea took her corpse to the Lazarus Pit… but she was not right when she came out.
We needed a new Firestorm, so the season premiere separated Martin Stein from Ronnie Raymond. Then last week the brought Stein together with Jackson Jefferson, giving us the new Firestorm for the series.
This week on the Flash we got to meet Kendra Saunders as an employee at Jitters who is going to go out with Cisco Ramon.
And finally Arrow this week had John Constantine make his Arrowverse debut and bring Sara's soul back to her.
That leaves Captain Cold and Heatwave who shouldn't need much to have them on the team. The introduction of Hawkman and giving wings to Hawkgirl… and of course the arrival of Rip Hunter.
Oh, and finding Ray Palmer who has been missing and presumed dead. Except Curtis Holt had found a final message from Palmer and gave it to Felicity Smoak to listen to only to discover there was more to it and Ray is alive (like we knew). But the trailer for the next episode shows that not only is he alive, but he's in a very Darhk place.
Arrow airs on Wednesdays at 8 PM on the CW.
