Halloween Recruits Andi Matichak as Cast Starts to Take Shape

Halloween, the 2018 sequel coming from Blumhouse and Universal, has cast Andi Matichak as new character Allyson. Allyson will be the daughter of whomever Judy Greer is playing in the film. Greer is rumored to be playing the daughter of Laurie Strode. Strode will, of course, be played by a returning Jamie Lee Curtis.

The cast is now starting to take shape (ha) as filming is scheduled to begin in January. Little is actually known about the plot of this new tale in the Michael Myers saga. What we do know is that the film will ignore all previous sequels and continuity that takes place after the events of the original Halloween film.

The film is co-written by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride. Green will direct. Horror icon and original Halloween director John Carpenter is executive producing and providing the soundtrack to the film as well.

Matichak does not have a ton of work to her name yet, having just finished the film Replicate due out soon. This would obviously be a huge opportunity for her to break out in a high-profile property.

The film is slated for release in October 2018.
