'It' Comes Home On Blu-Ray January 9th

It will be here before you know it. Pennywise the Dancing Clown will invade streaming services on December 19th (just in time to watch with your family on Christmas!) and 4K Blu-ray/DVD on January 9th. The monster hit horror film became the highest-grossing spooky flick of all time when it was released in September. So far the film has grossed $326 million dollars in the US to date and $683 million worldwide. Right now as it sits it is the 9th highest-grossing film worldwide of the year.

IT 4k Blu-ray/Blu-ray Details

The 4k Blu-ray will feature Dolby Vision HDR that goes frame by frame and optimizes the picture quality for any screen, as well as a Dolby Atmos soundtrack for those of you who have the equipment for such things. As far as special features are concerned:

Pennywise Lives! – Discover how Bill Skarsgård prepared to portray the primordial creature known as Pennywise the Dancing Clown
The Losers' Club – Get up close and personal with the teenage stars of "IT" as they bond together during the production,
Author of Fear – Stephen King reveals the roots of his best-selling novel, the nature of childhood fear and how he created his most famous monster, Pennywise
Deleted Scenes – Eleven deleted or extended scenes from the film
Languages: English, Latin Spanish, Canadian French, Brazilian Portuguese
Subtitles: English, Latin Spanish, Parisian French, Canadian French, Brazilian Portuguese

"IT," directed by Andrés Muschietti ("Mama"), is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name, which has been terrifying readers for decades. When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries. "IT" stars Bill Skarsgård ("Allegiant," TV's "Hemlock Grove") as the story's central villain, Pennywise.

For those of us who collect such things, there will also be a Steelbook edition exclusive to Best Buy stores in the US. Artwork for that one has not been revealed as of yet.

There is still no word on the "Director's Cut" teased by Muschietti during press for the film, either, but with 11 deleted scenes coming, my guess is that where the footage ended up instead of a new cut. Maybe another time.
