Jeremy Renner Breaks Both Arms Playing 'Tag' On Set

If you're an actor, you never say "good luck"; you say "break a leg". Actors are known for being superstitious. The also never mention the William Shakespeare play MacBeth by name on stage…bad things are supposed to happen if you do. Well, bad luck seems to have followed Jeremy Renner, as he has not broken a leg, but rather both arms. He did so while filming the New Line comedy Tag — he fractured his right arm and his left wrist during an on-set accident.

His schedule for the shoot was shuffled a bit, but the film wasn't delayed. Renner appears with Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Hannibal Buress, Jon Hamm and Annabelle Wallis in the true story of a group of friends who have been playing a cut-throat version of the game for 30 years. Tag will be in theaters June 29th, 2018.

The bigger question would be how this might affect his role as Hawkeye in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. Renner has yet to film any for the movie, but fear not — his injuries are not expected to affect the film's schedule. He also has another installment of Mission Impossible coming up and then the fourth Avengers film. He's going to be busy and will probably need both arms.
