Jurassic World Comes Out The Gate Strong With $18.5 Million

Jurassic WorldAt 7 PM last night, Universal threw open the gates to Jurassic World. The latest film in the dinosaur franchise pulled in $18.5 million dollars on 3,229 screens. The experts are now estimating that for the weekend we can expect the film to make between $115 and $135 million.

To put that in perspective, Furious 7 made $15.8M opening night with $147.2M for the weekend and Avengers: Age of Ultron did $27.6M on Thursday and $191.3M by Monday morning.

The current best June opening weekend goes to Man Of Steel that pulled in $116M back in 2013.
