Kevin Smith has 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' Religion Thoughts…
Leave it to Kevin Smith to make the declaration that the next Star Wars film may possibly dive into "hokey religions" based on the title- Rise of the Skywalker. The filmmaker and resident fanboy tackled the topic on the most recent episode of his Hollywood Babble On podcast with co-host Ralph Garman.
While speaking about the trailer and title reveal for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (which happened during Celebration in Chicago, you can read about it here and here), Smith said:
"What if they are telling us the f**king title? The way that Jedi has been used historically in these movies, including in the last movie – 'the last Jedi, the Jedis must end,' all that shit – what if that's it for the Jedis? And perhaps the new religion [are the Skywalkers]? Didn't that just give you f**king chills? What if it's that?"
What if indeed, Kevin.
