Mark Ruffalo Says Never To A Hulk Solo Movie, Because Of Universal And Marvel Kerfuffle

Talking to Variety at D3 today, Mark Ruffalo stated quite clearly when asked about the likelihood of another Hulk solo movie. "I wanna just make one thing perfectly clear today, a standalone Hulk movie will never happen. Because Universal has the rights to a standalone Hulk movie, and for some reason, they don't know how to play well with Marvel. And, they don't want to make money" as Don Cheadle mocked him. "It means a lot to me, I really love this character."

Universal made a Hulk movie directed by Ang Lee and starring Eric Bana in 2003. Marvel Studios then made The Incredible Hulk in 2008, though distributed by Universal, co-written and starring Ed Norton Jr. The latter film was part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, guest-starring Robert Downey Jr, Clark Gregg and featuring Thor's hammer. The Hulk then appeared in The Avengers played by Mark Ruffalo, appearing subsequently in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, and a cameo in Iron Man 3. As well as Avengers: Infinity War, he will play a significant part in the upcoming Thor Ragnarok movie based, in part, on the Planet Hulk storyline from the comic books.

But sorry, no Hulk solo movie. Not anymore, now they'be been bought by Disney…
