Reports Say Channing Tatum Closes Deal To Play Gambit

tatumEarlier in the week we heard that Channing Tatum was going to exit the upcoming Fox film Gambit. But now it seems that it may have just been a negotiating tactic as reports from THR say that the actor has signed on to play an anchor character in the X-Men Franchise the same way Hugh Jackman was with Wolverine.

Tatum will star and produce the film, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes' Rupert Wyatt will direct based on a script by Josh Zetumer. The film is based on a treatment by long-time X-Men comic writer Chris Claremont.

Gambit is expected to be in theaters October 7th, 2016.
