Rosario Dawson Says No Claire Temple In The Punisher
Rosario Dawson's character of Claire Temple is becoming the glue that holds the Marvel / Netflix universe together. She has appeared in both seasons of Daredevil as well as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. She is also scheduled to appear in The Defenders. In an interview with Collider, Dawson answered a few questions that fans have been wondering.
First she talked about getting the role as opposed to being one of the costumed vigilantes:
I remember when I first took on this character, I was like, "I don't know, I really wanted to have a radioactive spider situation. I'm just a nurse? Really?! Okay."
But it turns out that she loves playing the character:
I think it's really great. It's grounding to remind people that we all have the opportunity and skills to be heroes or heroines in our real life, and it's not just these heroes that have special powers that we get to fantasize about.
Why Claire didn't just reach out to Matt Murdock to help with the Hand:
We always allude to it that I've got this friend, but he gets to have time off. He was working on The Defenders, and he's about to start up Daredevil again. At the end of the day, it's really hard to get all of those casts together. For The Defenders, it was difficult to get everybody together.
And why she will not be in The Punisher:
People are busy! There are so many times where I really want it to happen. I really wanted to do a cameo on The Punisher, but it doesn't always work that way.
