Sandra Bullock And Cate Blanchett Lead Ocean's Eight Cast
Spinning off from the Ocean's Eleven franchise, Warner Bros has announced the cast for Ocean's Eight, a female-driven heist movie. The new film, directed by Gary Ross, is expected to start shooting in October and has already landed Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett. The studio says they are close to deals with Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina aka Nora Lum.
Seems they are still one short of the eight… but the film is still casting.
The original Ocean's Eleven from 1960 was put together for the Rat Pack to film while in Vegas. It starred: Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop, and Angie Dickinson. A 2001 remake with George Clooney, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt led to two sequels with a big cast that included Bernie Mac, Elliott Gould, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Carl Reiner, Andy Garcia, Julia Roberts, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
