Sean Gunn Talks Avengers: Endgame and Whether He'd Join James Gunn's The Suicide Squad
While Captain Marvel might be the talk of the town right now it's Avengers: Endgame that looms in the horizon. Between the secrecy and the way that it is being pitched as the end of an entire era, it's up there with one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Several cast members for Avengers: Endgame were on the carpet for Captain Marvel and one of them was Sean Gunn. Gunn plays the Ravager Kraglin and does the motion capture work for Rocket Raccoon. Rocket was the only Guardian who escaped The Snap so The Hollywood Reporter asked Gunn if Rocket is becoming an avenger.
What a nice and artful dodge. Kraglin got an expanded role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and now fans are wondering what has happened to him in wake of The Snap.
"I have a very strong feeling that Kraglin's story is not complete," Gunn said when asked if the character would be back. "So I think we are going to hear more from Kraglin."
There have been rumors that Kraglin will make some sort of appearance in Avengers: Endgame but if they end up using James Gunn's script we'll be seeing him for sure. Speaking of the other Gunn brother James Gunn is currently in pre-production for The Suicide Squad. Sean has been a vocal supporter of his brother ever since he was fired from Disney last summer. Dave Bautista, another vocal supporter of James, is rumored to be in consideration to join the cast and Sean was asked if he would join if asked as well.
"It's interesting to me as an artist. It's even more interesting as a brother," Sean Gunn said. "My brother and I have worked together in many capacities, since we were kids. If he wants me to do something, I will do it. But one of the things I respect most about him is that he's a storyteller first and foremost, so he's not going to try to cram me in there if I don't belong. If he has a part for me, I'd be happy to go do it, but we also have our separate careers and I'm doing my own thing as well, so we'll just see what happens there."
It's going to be interesting to see what ends up happening with The Suicide Squad. Warner Bros. knew what they were getting when they hired him so we can hope they'll sit back and James make the movie he wants to. The Suicide Squad will be released on August 6, 2021.
