Shazam Director David F. Sandberg Addresses Those Suit Costs and Posts a BTS Picture
Two days ago, a story came out about the cost of creating the suit, or in this case suits, for Shazam!. Some people have looked at that price tag and thought that it seemed a little high. Some also saw it as "proof" that people didn't like the suit and lots of money was spent trying to fix it. Director David F. Sandberg took to Reddit and Twitter to explain a little bit about the cost of costume design.
He went on to answer the evitable question about cosplayers and how they can make suits for a lot less.
That all makes sense when you think about and the reality is none of us really know how much money is being put into what aspects of these movies. We aren't doing the budgets so we don't need to know. That number doesn't mean anything because we don't have any other examples to compare it to. Sandberg also shared a new behind-the-scenes picture to his Instagram. He says it's from the first day of filming with star Zachary Levi.
Summary: A boy is given the ability to become an adult superhero in times of need with a single magic word.
Shazam!, directed by David F. Sandberg, stars Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Asher Angel, and will be written by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke. It will be released on April 5th, 2019.
