'Shazam!' Director Trolls Fan With "Perfect" Script Page

David F. Sandberg has a new movie coming out this weekend: Annabelle: Creation. And where you'd think the director would be out promoting the hell out of the film, he instead took time to tease fans about the next film on his plate, the DC Comic adaptation of Shazam!.

There has been a lot of talk about the project and even though Dwayne Johnson is set to play Black Adam in the DCEU, he's not expected to be in the film. But neither is Superman, and that didn't seem to stop the page Sandberg posted on Twitter from what he called a perfect draft and tagged writer Henry Gayden in the tweet.

Shazam

The problem comes when you actually read the page he posted. Either it's a complete fake or Warner Bros. has decided to make a superhero parody film. Billy Batson, a young boy, asks the well dressed tiger Tawky Tawny to hold his beer so he can become Shazam at the first sight of Superman. The Man of Steel is written to be a coward and it seems the two have fought before. This is obviously a very late April Fools joke, but you have to appreciate that Sandberg is having fun, something that until recently, has been in short supply in the DCEU films.

Shazam! is expected to be released April 5th, 2019.
