The state of the DC Extended Universe is in flux, but there are certain movies that are just too far along to stop production at this point — no matter how likely a "soft reboot" is looking. One of those movies is Shazam!, which kicked off its initial production, according to director David F. Sandberg:
Sandberg has been reminding me a lot of James Gunn in that he's willing to not only interact with fans, but also willing to call out BS reports when it comes to his movie.
Those character breakdowns are bullshit. Sivana is definitely not a reanimated sorcerer.

That also doesn't mean he's not willing to have a little fun at the expense of fans, either.
Really great kisser

Now that Shazam! is actually filming, maybe we'll learn a bit more about the production and what direction they are heading it. Sandberg seems to interact with fans on a pretty regular basis, so it might be fun to see whether he drops any sneak peeks for us in the coming months.
Shazam!, directed by David F. Sandberg, stars Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Asher Angel, and will be written by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke. It will be released on April 5th, 2019.
