Sir Bruce Forsyth has died at the age of 89 after a prolonged illness. A successful host, presenter and entertainer on the television since the fifties, his career began even before then, when he first trod the boards at the age of 14.

TV Legend Sir Bruce Forsyth Passes Away At Age 89A singer, dancer, and comedian, he gained his fame as a British TV host for ITV's entertainment show Sunday Night at the London Palladium in the fifties and sixties and then as a game show host in the seventies and eighties, including shows such as The Generation Game, Play Your Cards Right, and The Price is Right.

It was on these shows that he gained his catchphrases which would follow his career "Good game, good game," "You get nothing for a pair," "Didn't she do well?" and the most famous "Nice to see you, to see you nice," with the audience always following him on that final syllable. He also become one of the most impersonated people on British television as a result.

But he revived his career and may have gained the most prominence presenting the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing, sold internationally as Dancing With the Stars, with Tess Daly from 2004 to 2014 — and adding a new catchphrase to his litany: "Keep…dancing!"

He is survived by his wife and children.
