We are mere days away from January, and that means January movies. While this isn't so much the case anymore, back in the day, there used to be dead periods when studios wouldn't release a lot of movies. One of them was the late summer and into the very early fall, with the logic being all the kids are back in school, but it's too early for awards season because the average age of an awards season voter is about 103, and if you show them a movie before October they will forget it exists. The other one is January and into early February, with the idea being that everyone is broke as a joke after the holidays, and the first thing to go out the door when you're broke is things like going to the movies. However, with schedules getting more and more packed, the "dead zones" are shrinking every year, and January movies are becoming a weird time of year for buckwild action movies and horror of all things. One of the fun-looking January movies coming this year is from Jason Statham and David Ayer and is titled The Beekeeper. It looks about what you would expect a film from those two releasing in January to look like, but it could be fun. We also have a new Dolby Cinema poster and a new international poster.
