Here's a movie you might have forgotten was happening; the Tomb Raider reboot staring Alicia Vikander has apparently wrapped production. Director Roar Uthaug confirmed on instagram today that the principal photography had wrapped which was surprising since this is one of the few major blockbusters where there weren't a ton of leaks. We had some set photos but aside from that the only images we've seen thus far have been from Uthaug's instagram. The production began at the beginning of the year and the movie is due out March 18, 2018. There is a good chance that Comic-Con International will be the first time we see any footage perhaps during Warner Bros. Hall H presentation. Here are all the images and such that Uthaug has shared from set including the first official look of Vikander as Lara from March that we totally missed. We also tracked down a couple more images as well.
Summary:Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, must push herself beyond her limits when she finds herself on the island where her father disappeared.
Tomb Raider, directed by Roar Uthaug, will star Alicia Vikander, Walton Goggins, Dominic West, Hannah John-Kamen, and Daniel Wu. It will be released on March 18, 2018.
And here are all of the instagram posts from the set. Posted in reverse order.
