Wrestling Legend Bobby "The Brain" Heenan Passed Away Today
Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, whose in his accomplished career was both one of the greatest pro wrestling managers of all time and one of the greatest color commentators, passed away Sunday at the age of 73.
During his time in AWA and WWE, Heenan managed over forty individual wrestlers and tag teams, including Andre The Giant, Rick Rude, Ric Flair, Mr. Perfect, Nick Bockwinkle, and The Brainbusters. Heenans work on commentary with Gorilla Monsoon was one of the most iconic in WWE history, and Heenan also announced during WCW Nitro's run on top of the business in the late 1990s.
Later in life, Heenan battled throat and tongue cancer, and multiple surgeries and issues with his jaw hindered his ability to speak. Heenan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004. Heenan continued to make appearances and do signings until his death.
